Modifyinig my Hagstrom Super Viking

This is a fine instrument - amazing value for the money. It plays and sounds great but I didn't love the looks. Here's how it looked new-I didn't like the white pickguard or the white pickup rings. Also, the tailpiece is kinda cool but I wanted a more refined look, more like an actual 335. And I wasn't fond of the headstock shape

So here's the new version with no pickguard, painted black pickup rings, and a standard trapeze tailpiece.

I like it much better. Now for the headstock and tuners

I'm sure the designer in Sweden thought this headstock was unique and cool

Well it's definitely unique - but just not my style. It's lopsided and the tuner knobs are a bit ostentatious

Out came the coping saw! Quick and dirty - I cut off the offending hump

After a little black spray paint and a set of Gotoh standard tuners I'm pretty happy with the result

So here she is - much more demure - like the old 335's I grew up with
